Healthy Snacks

Moorefield Station Elementary School

Students in first and third grade classes will be teaming up to grow and create healthy snack options at school. Students will work together to plant and maintain spinach and kale plants that will be used to make healthy smoothies once a month. The students will be the ones to create and test different recipes with each other. There will be seven third grade classes paired with seven first grade classes, for a total of 350 students working together on this project. The project will be facilitated by teachers, but students will be conducting the majority of the project on their own using prior knowledge and new research of different health, science and math content.
